Carleton University Workshop - The Power of Apology
June 10, 2009 -
Ontario has recently enacted The Apology Act, 2009, to permit apologies to occur in certain circumstances without the apology constituting an admission that creates liability for the apologizing party. This legislation recognizes the strong human need to make and receive apologies and the societal importance of promoting the giving and receiving of apologies. This course is intended to give the participants an understanding of Ontario’s Apology Act and its impact upon giving apologies in different contexts, and an opportunity to examine the structure of an effective apology.
